Additional 7 delta cases detected in ZC
Cases of the more contagious Delta variant in Zamboanga City soared to 26, as 7 new cases were detected based on the results of genome sequencing released by the Department of Health last Friday, September 24.
Of the 7 new cases detected, 6 have recovered while 1 expired.
The public is strongly urged to protect themselves by observing maximum health standards and avoid the 3 Cs – closed spaces with poor ventilation, crowded places with many people nearby and close-contact settings such as close-range conversations.

Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City – May 24, 2022 The Western Mindanao Command’s Joint Task Force Central launched preemptive military operations to prevent the Daulah Islamiyah-Turaifie Group (DI-TG) led by Esmael Abdulmalik, a.k.a. Abu Turaifie, from harassing communities after they were sighted in Sitio Patawali, Barangay Ganta, Datu Salibo, Maguindanao on Monday morning, May 23, 2022. The newly installed JTF Central Acting Commander, Brig. Gen. Eduardo Gubat confirmed that an armed confrontation transpired between the troops of the 6th Infantry Battalion and an undetermined number of DI-TG members at the abovementioned barangay. “Our troops from the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion under Lt.
